Giving Back

Each year The Grassroots Wedding Fair chooses a local environmental or socially-responsible non-profit organization to receive a portion of ticket sales.

Our donation recipient for 2012 is:

The Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society is dedicated to providing food and related assistance to those in need. The GVFBS collects and distributes food for up to 25‚000 people weekly through 15 food depots and over 100 community agencies in Vancouver‚ Burnaby‚ New Westminster and the North Shore. The GVFBS relies solely on individuals and organizations to donate funds‚ food and time.
The Wedding Favour program provides opportunity for couples to make a financial donation, in lieu of wedding favours, to the Food Bank in celebration of their marriage and in honour of their guests. Place cards are provided for each guest.

The 2011 recipient was Western Canada Wilderness Committee

If you are planning a green wedding and want to arrange a charitable donation to an organization in lieu of gifts, the Wilderness Committee will provide tax deductible receipts, a display where your monies will go and a special thank you card to your guests. Donations can be made towards several campaigns such as Species at Risk or Ancient Tree Campaign.
